Technically they do not increase your weekly cap but they do give you more SP, so in effect yeah they for all intents and purposes do increase your cap. Having boosters has no effect on how fast you cap out. If you have no boosters and cap out you will earn 190,400 SP/week. With a normal active booster it'd be 285,600 (50% more), with Omega active booster 380,800 (100% more).
Ryme Intrinseca wrote:Your numbers are way out. The passive omega is 65k AUR and the active omega is 17.5k, so if you ran those for a month (which would be nuts, you'd only need 2 actives to cap each week) that would cost 135k. The passive regular is 28k and the active 1 week regular (nearest equivalent to the active omega) is 7k, so if you ran those for a month that would cost 56k. So it costs 2.4 times as much to run Omegas.
But with your creative accountancy the Omegas cost $60 and the regular $15, a multiple of 4. I guess what you're doing is treating the regular boosters as at a special discount because you get them in the merc/vet/elite packs. But that's totally irrelevant. When we're considering whether the omega is good value, we're obviously asking whether it's a good way to spend the AUR we already have. For that question, the correct multiplier for the omega versus the regular is 2.4, not 4.
I thank you for your criticism but if you would have taken the time to read my post in detail you would have come across this little sentence: "
Please note that the calculations don't take into account daily bonuses and only running booster for a full month is considered ...". Yes you are quite correct that doing clever things with the 1,3,7 day active boosters is way more efficient but my calculations were mainly focused on the casuals that want maximum flexibility (like Zeylon Rho mentioned) and minimal commitment, hence 24/7 boosting. Given that the numbers are I believe correct, 65K AUR for Omega Passive and 4*17.5K = 70K AUR for the Omega Active, a total of 135K AUR. As the Omega boosters are not included in any PS store packs they'll have to be obtained purely by AUR. Currently the most cost efficient way to obtain AUR is via the $100 pack which gives you 225K AUR or 2250 AUR for every $1 you spend. So 135K AUR costs you 135,000 / 2250 = $60. I thank you for point ing out one error on my part. It's actually $16 but not $15 per month for normal booster. The way I obtained that number: buy 4 Mercenary Packs, you get 4x active boosters and 160K AUR which is enough to buy 4x passives + the active+passive bundle for 46.6K AUR. That means you spend $80 and get 5 months of boosters $80/5 = $16/month. I have corrected the spreadsheet and my original post. If you are only doing a one off buy then it's of course $20 but like previously stated, the calculations assume long term full boosting.
Lt Royal, I thank you kindly!
